Honorary Deputy Director-General of China Instrument and Control Society

In March 1980, Mr. WU was transferred to the Ministry of Machinery Industry of China. Since then, he has been working in China Instrument and Control Society（CIS）, taking the posts of Foreign Affairs Staff, Deputy Director and Director of International Department, Executive Deputy Secretary General and Secretary General, Deputy Director-General & Secretary General, Executive Deputy Director-General, and President of theChinese Journal of Scientific Instrumentmagazine, etc. Now He is Honorary Deputy Director-General, Researcher and Senior Engineer of China Instrument and Control Society.

In the past four decades, He has made outstanding contributions to helping build China Instrument and Control Society into a first-class society of science and technology and expand its scope of activities. When leading the Secretariat of the Society, he has made ceaseless efforts to enhance organizational building while improving membership management and service system; encourage experts to provide strategy advice; engage in international mutual recognition of professional & technical titles; organize academic exchanges and promote science education activities; host exhibitions and events to strengthen the competency of the CIS; integrate resources of the CIS and serve the development of science and technology and industry. Especially in the CIS reform, he creatively proposed plans to establish the regional alliance of the CIS, integrate the superior resources of the CIS and build 16 service platforms for enterprises and industries, so as to gain great social and financial benefits for development of the CIS.

Besides, He has been involved in establishing International Conference and Fair for Measurement Instrumentation and Automation (Miconex), World Sensor Summit（WSS）, Belt and Road Alliance for Sensing and IoT Collaboration (BRASIC), and other brand activities, which have expanded the international reputation and influence of CIS. Due to his outstanding work, CIS won the title of Best-performing Society of China Association for Science and Technology for four consecutive years (2003-2007) and won the title of Best-performing Society within the system of China Machinery Industry Federation in 2006-2007. In 2012, it was awarded the 5A Science and Technology Society by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China and the first prize of the “Special Project for Improving the Ability of the Society” by the China Association for Science and Technology. Mr. WU received the title of “Best-performing Worker of China Association for Science and Technology”.
